Our Oregon Vacation, July 6-10, 2006

We decided to take a short vacation in July and make a loop down I-5 to Ashland and then over to the coast. Hope you enjoy our virtual tour.

• We visited lots of antique shops, and even ran across a few outdoor markets.
• We stayed at some nice hotels.
• We had fun wandering around Ashland.
• We took the short path out to the ocean from Grants Pass; although very scenic, it was very windy.
• We stopped to see the Coquille River Lighthouse.
• Coos Bay had a nice waterfront boardwalk.
• The Oregon coast offered a variety of views.
• We stopped at the cheese factory and took the self-guided tour.
• Seaside was fun to wander around, too.
• We made a stop at Fort Stevens State Park so we could see the remains of the Peter Iredale, which ran aground in 1906.
• Surpisingly enough, you can still drive through the Grays River Covered Bridge in southwestern Washington.
• I couldn't resist photographing the flowers, even if they weren't wild.
