Here's perhaps a better angle. The telescope is actually way up in the air as shown here (the gray tower in the bottom corner is perhaps 20 feet tall). The floor in this room will actually raise up around that tower to the level of the telescope, so the astronomer can stand or sit and use the machine. Pretty nifty, I think.
