We put all our food, trash, and anything else that might smell tasty in the bear can and placed it on the other side of the creek from camp. We then put the cooking ware on top, and a rock on that. If anything were to knock it over, we'd know. To spoil the surprise: the bear can cairn was still intact Sunday morning.
