Casey plays the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast machine here was the big winner for our group in the casino. It's a gambling game that's mostly a game of chance, but some skill can help. Players drop tokens in one of three slots at the top of the machine (Casey's doing that now) and the token drops through a pachinko-type array on the back of the playing area (the part with tropical travel pictures and the spinner). The token then drops on a ledge that moves in and out. When it moves in, the token may push off the ledge other tokens already there. When the ledge moves back out, any tokens that have dropped may then push forward yet other tokens in the main playfield. Those that drop through the front of the machine go to the player. There are also two holes on the side of the playfield (one has caught the flash in this exposure in the empty seat next to Casey); tokens falling in those holes go to the house. If that wasn't enough fun, there are also used craps dice, souvenir silver coins, and "money packets" on the main play field on the coins. If any of those fall through the very front, they also go to the player. Whee!
