After classes study groups used their house passwords to unlock passage to their "dormitories." In this version of Hogwarts our "dorms" were rental vehicles; starting around 7p our game turned from a walking game just in Sacramento to a driving game in the Sacramento suburbs. Our first stop was this fish hatchery where we picked up a nice puzzle that encoded its message with Braille and a minesweeper grid. Wei-Hwa, Dan, Nick, and Doug combined efforts to solve the puzzle, actually twice in parallel and to check their work.
The widget on the Explorer's hood is a GPS antenna. The rental car had a nav system but it seemed pretty unintuitive to use. Still, it was a nice feature, especially on the longer drives when we had time to joystick-in an address.
