Sam, Doug, and I hung around the water for only a short time after we all connected up. We left Ian, Trisha, Wei-Hwa, and Melinda splashing about with possible plans to float on the river, and instead we found some bicycles to rent. There's a trail that runs down the west side of the lake and another trail that heads out along the Truckee river. After renting the bicycles we chose the lake route. I managed to rent a road bike, not a mountain bike, which I really appreciated later. I'm more comfortable in the crouched position when pedalling and the bicycle is much lighter.
