Q: With what computers are the discs compatible?
A: Any computer with a CD-ROM or DVD drive.
Q: How do I view the pictures on the compact disc?
A: Here are two ways that you can view the pictures:
Open the file directly:
If you are running Windows, to view the images, place the compact disc in your CD-ROM drive. In either File Manager or My Computer, double-click your CD-ROM drive and then double-click the Readme.htm file.
Open the browser and then open the file:
In Netscape Navigator, click File and then click Open File In Browser. When the Source window appears, navigate to your CD-ROM drive and open the Readme.htm page. From the Readme.htm page, you will be able to follow the links and view all the pictures.
In Internet Explorer, click File and then click Open. In the Open window, click the Browse button and then open the Readme.htm file on the lighthouse CD in your CD-ROM drive. Click OK to have the Readme.htm page appear in your browser.
In the AOL Browser, click File and then click Open. In the Open window, go the CD-ROM drive and select the Readme.htm file. Open this file and it should come up in the browser window.
Q: How do I print the pictures?
A: Here are some ways to print the pictures:
In Internet Explorer, click File and then click Open. Browse to either the GIF or JPEG directories on the lighthouse CD. After opening either the GIF or JPEG directory, click the Files of Type drop down box and select (either) GIF Files or JPEG Files. Select the image you want and open it. You should now be able to print your selected picture from your browser window.
In Netscape Navigator, click File and then click Open File in Browser. Go to either the GIF or JPEG directories on the lighthouse CD. After opening either the GIF or JPEG directory, click the Files of Type drop down box and select All Files (*.*). Select the image you want and open it. You should now be able to print your selected picture from your browser window.
If you want to change the size of a GIF or JPEG picture, you can open these files in PageMaker 6.5, Microsoft Word 97 or later, or Microsoft Works 3.0 or later. You can also use PhotoShop 3.0 or later to change the size of any of the picture types (.psd, .gif, or .jpg).
Q: Can I save an image as my wallpaper?
A: Yes you can, if you are running Windows and you have Internet Explorer 3.0 or later or Netscape Communicator 4.0 or later.
Here is how to save a picture as wallpaper:
In either Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator, open the file that has the picture you want for your wallpaper. Move your mouse pointer over your selected image. Right-click the image. Click "Set as Wallpaper."
Q: Can I use this compact disc as a screen saver?
A: No, not as a stand-alone.
